This will do everything, upload a image up to 5mb set the size by percentage or by pixel (600px wide is plenty), adjust image quality 90% 80% or whatever keep the original output to jpg and then click on the green resize button. It will then show you the old and new weight in kb.
If its above 60kb just tweak it until its under. When done click on the download button into a folder on your computer.
The beauty of this process is no watermarks are placed on the image.
So all members who had the resize excuse had better come up with another one but make it good

Locate your picture choose 600 pixels and then quality= Good
Upload it and then right click on the reduced image, then choose "save as" so it downloads to a folder on your computer and then upload here. Easy..... even a girl could do that

There several options for resizing pics... I use GIMP2, myself... GNU Image Manipulation Program... It's a full on, hard core editor/manipulator comparable to PhotoShop or PaintShopPro and the likes... The best part? It's FREE... 100% FREE... Has all the features... Clone tool, layers, smudgers, filters galore etc etc etc etc... I use it for resizing pics as there's many ways to do it in there...
Before I used GIMP2, I was using ACDSee as it has a batch area for resizing and renaming and so on... That one was easiest... Select the files, batch, resize, set the options and off it went...
I found the InfranView one to be kinda out there in relation to the others I mentioned.. IfV didn't leave a clean pic for me if I got it down to the requirements here... It got all washy and looked like the old school GIF's from the early 90's...
Either way, there's a couple more options for resizing... Hope it's helped at least someone...

I saw Irfanview recommended and I have used that application for over 15 years. it does a great job of cutting file size without cutting quality

I found a nice free image shrinker today... HudiSoft Image Shrinker... Freeware and VERY easy to use... Point at the folder, select the files, the new res and that's it... The pics I added to my gallery today were all done with this program....
Gotta love free things...
