Police release photos of stolen undergarments, other clothing

Boulder police are releasing photographs and descriptions of dozens of undergarments and other clothing items found in the apartment of a man who has been arrested for videotaping naked women and couples engaged in intimate acts. Investigators are asking potential owners to contact police to claim their property and help with the ongoing investigation.

The suspect, Wesley Cox, was arrested on Oct. 31 when he was caught filming a couple without their permission through a window in the 1500 block of 48th Street. Cox, 44, was arrested after two neighbors saw him with his video camera, confronted him and held him down until officers arrived. The neighbors realized that Cox was attempting to erase the videotape and prevented him from doing so. Police later found a variety of incriminating shots on the camera, including several of nude women who have not yet been identified. There are also images of Cox masturbating with women's underwear in a bedroom that is not his own.

As a result of the evidence against him, investigators obtained a search warrant for Cox's home, 1505 48th St. in Boulder. The undergarments and clothing items that are in the photographs were all found inside Cox's residence. He lives alone. Investigators believe that the items were likely taken from homes within a two-mile radius of Cox's home. Detectives say it appears that Cox broke into women's homes, stole their belongings and then became obsessed with the victims.

Cox has been booked into the jail on charges of unlawful sexual contact and trespassing. Additional charges are possible depending on the outcome of the investigation.

This is exactly the kind of thing that gives the rest of us a bad name. I'm pretty sure I'm not too ffar off the mark when I say for the most part we are all law abiding citizens who have jobs work hard and pay our taxes etc. So we step outside the box of morality or normalcy if you will but who are we hurting , NO ONE but guys like this idiot are dangerous. You never know what they are going to progress to, how would any of us who choose to keep our fetishes a secrete from the rest of society for what ever reason have this guy peering in our windows with a video camera I know I sure as hell wouldn't how about you? well, yes, but how is he different from any one of us who steals panties from laundry hampers etc in the places we are visiting or staying as guests etc? I mean, I get the peeping Tom thing, and I don't condone that either, but if you're going to condemn him for breaking the law by stealing panties, then you yourself will have to respect the private property rights of everyone who owns a pair of panties.

I don't steal panties (I do "borrow" them, but I always put them back), and I'm always a little uncomfortable when I read about folks who do.
