PM: I was about to ask that you "correct" my nom des culottes, when I went to the OED to double-check things.
Anyhow, I very nearly confused myself, but if it's not too much of a bother, could you spell it the more common way? That is, Agony " Auntie Anna"?
The "-y" ending always conjures up for me the 19th century use of the word in speaking of slave women, and while either spelling is technically correct, there are no OED citations for "aunty" any later than 1865, the last year of the American Civil War.
Yes, I know I'm being horribly picky.
It's mildly and uselessly interesting that, at least if I understand it correctly, the singular form of "pantie/panty" in Australian English is the "-ie" form. It's always a little odd how some words shift and others don't. One would think, given the changing preference in favor of the "-ie" ending of "auntie" that "pantie" would have followed suit here in the U.S. as well.
I'm sure everyone is simply fascinated by this detour into linguistic and dialect trivia.

Yes I see what you mean, only when I was a nipper aunty was how we spelt it, now maybe there is some confusion here because the US have there own spellings for certain words, and in some cases changed the meaning completely.
But lets look at it visually, I think Aunty looks better than auntie as a title, or I could change it to Picky Anna as you yourself admitted to being.
Hmm maybe we should let the jury decide

I hate to be contrary (well, maybe not) but the OED's citations are primarily from British sources. While they try to list variants in all major dialects, they always tend to be a lot more comprehensive when it comes to British usage.
And "agony auntie" is almost exclusively British usage. I only know the term by way of a fondness for British writers and such. (And in fact recall that I first came across it not too very long ago.)
In the States you'd more likely hear them referred to by comparison to one of their better-known exemplars, most probably, "Dear Abby." (Who I believe is still published, but "her" advice is now written by someone whose birth name was not Abby -- in fact, I seem to recall that the most recent replacement I know of was a male relative of the original Abby. I could be mistaken on that count, though.)
In any event, the OED lists only agony aunt and agony auntie in either the definition text or citations.
If they spelt it "aunty" in your childhood then you are either a child of the mid-1800s or perhaps they (omigod) misspelled it where you were? I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time that happened somewhere.

Aunty Anna, i think you make a great agony aunt. Actually, you should be given a separate forum, Aunty Annas Q&A page.
I'm not sure if we spell aunty with an ie or y in australia, to tell you the truth, i dont think anyone in Oz really cares too much which way it's spelt!
In this country, we are all such lazy speakers of english, every word is shortened with a y, or an ie, or an o and so on. I dont mind either version of aunty or auntie - but when i was growing up i always assumed it to be spelt as aunty. It is certainly a hot debate, yes, i wonder what the other girls(sorry, and guys), think?

Afraid I'm not following the first question. There's a link to my gallery/album, if that's what you're asking, when you click on the right-hand pic in my signature. (When I resized my signature to make it a bit less obtrusive, I made the text illegible; I need to redo that in some other font and layout to make the linkage more obvious).
As for your albums, Wow!
Fantastic, sexy pics and the photography's also very nicely done!
My only wish is that you might think of resizing them to about twice their present width/height. (You probably have room to triple at least some of them).
Of course, this would probably require some significant sacrifice in terms of increasing the compression of the images, and you may feel that's not what you want. But doubling/squaring would probably get you to a fairly good (though far from perfect) middle ground.

I agree with Pink ... Aunty (or Auntie) Anna Q&A Page ... also I just emailed Dorthy and she asked "Auntie Em" and Toto they both agree here in the true "Land of OZ" (Kansas) we spell it with the "ie" ... but I am still waiting on the Scarecrow to give his educated opinion ...
So I vote for Auntie Anna if we are taking a poll ... the true American way to decide ... vote, count, recount, recount, appeal the count, then Sue the counters, and finally ask the Court for a decision ... and then Bitch about the out come ... LOL

 Hi pantie babes ...regarding the spelling of words i have a Websters dictionary U.S.A. a Penguin dictionary United Kingdom and a Collins
dictionary Australia and i can tell you that there are a lot of words in the
three of them that are spelt diffferent.. you would all know that words are being added and / or changed every new edition EXAMPLE: through Aus.
thru U.S ...colour Aus..color U.S. having said that does it matter realy...

I would agree. However, just to be serious for one second, as a former English major from a fairly reputable American private college, I was given the definite impression by all my professors that they considered the full-length edition of the Oxford English Dictionary to be the ultimate authority in all matters of English diction, including those involving different national dialects. Only in matters of criminal and "transient" slang and purely vocal exp ression does the OED come up short, and in that area, there really are no comprehensive references. For instance, it will be a number of years before "bling bling" appears in any major dictionary (unless someone is now assembling a "quick response" online dictionary -- and for that, one really needs little more than Google or any other search engine.
Those who assemble the OED in all its editions and supplements are exceedingly careful to call out any and all differences they find in "top end" print sources in spelling and custom, when they exist.
Thus, I feel comfortable stating that, aside from typos and the laxity of so many semi-literate, provincial newpapers, the fact that no use of "Aunty" appears in association with the word "agony" is sufficient authority on the matter for my purposes. Besides which, it continues to look wrong. 
I quoted the pertinent passages (though not the entire entry) from the OED in some message above (or in the thread that gave rise to this one). I'd post the entire entry but suspect PH neither cares nor would submit to its authority, so why bother?
