Soy Underwear,( that's soy not soiled)
China is now manufacturing soy panties, which are made from fabric spun out of old soy bean dregs. The soft and silky fabric was invented by Li Guanqi.
The soybean cloth, touted as a more ecologically sound alternative to traditional cloth made of cotton or wool, is starting to hit European and the US markets. Siegel plans to feature soy bean fibre dresses in their catalogue next spring
"With limited colours, styles and products to choose from, the material itself is wonderful," says a clerk who bought soy panties out of curiosity.
Reports say ...
China hopes to tap consumers' growing interest in eco-friendly textiles, part of a wider trend in the US and other Western countries to embrace naturally derived products.
It is hard to determine whether soy bean garments have real breakthrough potential. The fabric is still new and is mostly sold in China, but several designers are already part of the organic clothing trend.
Apparel companies have started farms and factories producing organic cotton, soybean fiber and hemp in China. China has ramped up production of eco-friendly fibers and durable crops that require little pesticide.
