Alfred Peters in Grove Street has put a price tag of £7,000 on the thong manufactured by luxury lingerie specialists Gossard- but it is worth twice that.
And there are no shortage of wealthy male customers eyeing up the glamourous panty on sale as a dream present for the woman or man in their lives.
Spokesman Peter Harrington, director of Jewellers at sister shop across the road, Harrington Hallworth, said: "There are plenty of men who would love to buy this for a special lady in their life. It is Wilmslow after all where many ladies already have whatever they want, all that their heart’s desire."...........


The unique accessory has three-and-a-half carat diamonds attached to the fabric as well as 18-carat gold links made by a top London goldsmith.
It was originally valued at £14,000 when made for Gossard for a customer competition two years ago.
The lucky winner, from Morecombe, Lancashire, who declined to be named has never worn it and kept it safely stashed away in a drawer. She is now moving house and decided to sell.
Mr Harrington said: "The goldsmith who made it has made some interesting pieces for us in the past and he contacted us to see if we could sell it. This is not something you can put in your window but it is something unique and if you get bored of the g-string you can take it apart and wear it as a bracelet.
"It is the sort of thing that if a client is looking for something unique they may well buy it."
He says whoever pays £7,000 for the g-string will have themselves a bargain, as the diamonds are worth that alone.  golden_panty.jpg (9.23K)
