i personally hate thongs and g-strings - i curse the day these so-called panties became mainstream.1] The thong has removed the fun in checking out a VPL. 2]the thong has minimized the total surface area of the panty, and as such i challenge its status as a true panty - it is a modern bastardisation designed primarily to reduce VPL 3] They dont feel as sexy as full- backed panties against the skin.
This is just my opinion, everyone has different preferences of course.

I Prefer ..Silk or Satin .. sadly I am a gurl living on a budget so nylon or micro-fiber is what I wear 24/7 ... Always in either Black, or soft pastel colors ... and 90% of the time full coverage briefs and most of them are brief style girdle panties ... I do have a few thongs that I bought just to experience the style and feel and although I do find wearing them kind of naughty I really prefer the feel of something smooth and silky across my bottom as I walk or set ... and when it comes to LACE .. the more the better .. guess one could say .. I prefer ULTRA-Feminine full coverage panties with lace or pretty designs in soft pretty pastel colors or sexy Black ... What I call "Gurl-Power Panties!!!!" because when I am wearing them I am always reminded of my femininity and to act accordingly .. Be A Lady although sometimes a little naughty also ...

im with you michelle jo, its either ultra feminine or nothing for me- the girlier they are, the more i want them. A few weeks back i had the utmost pleasure of buying simply the girliest, most feminine panties ive ever owned ( and that is no mean feat, let me tell you).
They are shade of soft, candy pink, with four rows of frilly ruffles at the back, one line of frills running along the top at the front, and completed with a large, shiny pink bow and ribbons at the front right hand side of the panty ( i bought them with a matching pink chemise with all the frills and bows a sissy like me could ask for )
One can quite easily acquire a luxurious feel and femme look on a budget, the only difference of course is that panties fall apart quicker, elastic weaken, stitching comes undone etc. Silk, satin and lace are pratically mandatory when choosing a panty- cotton panties are ok but like many other gurls find they are not feminine enough or simply dont feel as good to wear. For some reason ive always liked my panties to have that 'zigzag' stitching along the leg openings and waist - i guess because such styling is synonymous with ladies underwear

Yes, a G-String can be a little un-comfortable but oh so sexy. Yes, it does take away the VPL but in return you get the Visible Panty String that peeks out the top of your shorts! Now that can be very sexy!! :wink:
I do like the feel of silky or satiny panties against my butt and like the idea of panty lines showing. I also really like the feel of "Boy Shorts", especially across the bottom of my butt! I usually wear cotton "Big Girl or Little Girl" panties when I am at work. They are just more comfortable, but there is nothing more of a turn on than a great fitting satiny, colorful, lacy bikini panty that is very feminine! this is a little bit off the subject, but it is really frustrating not having any pictures to show off my sexy girl bottom in pretty panties! I have never posted pictures before and while i have read pantyholics instructions in the faq page on how to upload, i am still a little unsure - i assume i will need a digital camera to upload pictures? tell me if i am on the right track because as soon as i know what the hell i am doing, the sooner i can get my pantied ass into cyberspace

Yes, a digital camera would really help but there are other, more complex ways. If you don't have a digital camera you will need a scanner. With the prices of digital cameras you should go ahead and make the investment, it will be a lot easier and more fun! Simply take your pictures, store them in a folder on your computer and up-load them from there. Simple! A little experimentation with your camera to get the right angles, lighting, focus etc... and you're ready. Looking forward to seeing your pantied ass here in cyberspace! :wink:

yes to a digital camera, you will soon learn about uploading. But unless you have a close friend to take the pics try to make sure your camera has a delayed action on it, so you can press the shutter, arrange your interesting bits and pose in those pretty panties and get some good shots. Best of luck, the only trouble is you are often too excited to get the best shots, but keep trying!

Besides the timer, if your camera has good lens(es) and depth of field, you'll also probably want to set it to manual focus, so you can arrange yourself consistently within the camera's ideal focal range. It took me a lot of bad shots that should have been *much* better, before I realized this. Autofocus kept trying to decide what to shoot, getting it wrong a good deal of the time.
I could go on and on about tricks with cameras, so, for everyone's sake, I won't.

Sweetie a digital camera is the best and maybe the easiest way ..but if you do not have one a Cheep Web Cam can do until you can afford a med-level digital camera ... as long as your PC and the web cam are in a room you can pose in most web cams can take still pics for saving, uploading, or emails ... I have both and use both at different times for different uses ...
Just my opinion but if you are going to buy a digital camera get at least a 3 mega-pictal one .. less than that and you probably will be sorry later on ... and they are not that much more expensive than the 1 or 2 mega pictal ones

thank you ladies for all of your informative replies. For budgetary and simplicity reasons i am leaning towards a web cam, maybe later on i can graduate to a digital camera. I did some investigating today at an electrical goods store and found a web cam that takes (supposedly) reasonable quality pictures, that costs around 60 bucks.i also need to buy a URL lead separately that costs an extra 30 bucks, which is not too bad overall methinks. All going to plan i should be up and running within a fortnight

You are correct .. they do require a lot of light to make the picture look good ... I have a flood style light desk lamp beside my PC and when I point it toward me then the web cam seams to give a much better picture ..but again your correct they will never come close to the quality of even a cheep 1 Mega-Pictal camera ... then again I have seen them for less than 25.00 when bought on sale or with a rebate ...

Sweetie I hope you mean a "USB" lead because I am unsure what a "URL" lead is .. but $30.00 seams a bit high to me .. shop around I have seen 6 foot long USB cables on sale for less than $10.00 ...
