38-year-old choir singer Matthew Barrowman from Adelaide in South Australia has been jailed for two and a half years after being found guilty of unlawful sexual intercourse and two counts of indecent assault.

Barrowman had a five-month relationship with a transvestite in 2004. The boy was just 15 at the time. Sentencing Judge Michael David said: "Your victim was clearly a dysfunctional, disturbed person who had been thrown out of his home..."

He continued to say that "There was a large disparity between your ages, and your victim – although willing and not inexperienced – was nevertheless dysfunctional and vulnerable."
