In spanish knickers or panties are called Bragas and a bra is a sostén and in French I dunno, all I know about the French is "they eat horses don't they" and they drive like maniacs.

In French, Panties/Knickers are "une culotte", bra is "soutien-gorge" and a suspender belt is a "porte-jarretelles", use to hold up les bas (stockings), instead of wearing un collant (tights).

In German, panties are ein Slip, and a bra is a BH pronounced bay-har, and short for Brusthalter (literally breast holder) - wonderfully literal those Germans.

Oh and a CD in German is a DWT (DamenWäscheTräger)

In Missouri, rednecks and Democrats call them "a waste of cotton" and "a damned nusance". Bras are generally known as "booby catchers" or the literal, "Tits up thing." I have it on good authority that the Chinese call them "Wanna peek?$5" and their knock off bras are known as "One hung Lo." Floridians call panties "tents" due to the large sizes and bras are a medical device, worn to prevent blindness in onlookers.

In Eastern Oregon they are called "unders" and in Hebrew they are tah'to'nim, bra is haz'iya, pantyhose is grabonim.

Anyway time for a little aussie slang, cause we all like that. A common term here for panties is 'undies', not really interesting I know. I have noticed the term used more and more in the US too. It's about time us Aussies had an influence!

The stranger one is 'underdaks' which is shortened to 'daks', I've only ever used it personally to describe male underpants. Here it is in a sentance:
