As a younger man (and even today) I used to love flicking through a mail order catalogue and going straight for the underwear section. Here in Britain we used to have catalogues like Grattan, Kays, Littlewoods and Great Universal devoting 50 or 60 pages to ladies intimates. I would spend hours pouring over these pages looking at page after page of knickers , bras and girdles, I used to fantasise about waering all the lovley items and learned a great deal about lingerie from the pages, like the names of panty styles, cup sizes, fabrics it was a true education in lingerie. The first ones I saw in the 70's were before the dreaded thong and all panties on display were full briefs, bikini or high legs many would even sell tights. Sadly I do not owm any vintage copies of such items but wuold love to get my hands on some once again, unfortunately the modern ones devote too much space to thongs and some do not feature even one girdle section.

I use to do that as well flick through the old catalogues when I was younger some of them sites of the ladies wearing them knickers was stunning, I can remember one of the catalogues I think it was great universal advertising house wife knickers these were in the material of nylon and high leg or full briefs I dont think I ever saw them in satin. oh and yes you are right they did use to advertise tights and stockings when i use to look throught the lingerie pages I use to try and see if I could make out the shape of the women when they had got tight ones on sometimes I was lucky and most times I wasnt.

Yea been there also, I had many a wank over catalogue pics, bloody things were heavy though. I also had a strange fascination when the tiller girls came on at the London night paladium....... dont know why

Still do it and have been since I was a young boy. I like to see what I can look out for in the shops before I buy as well.

That is unbelievable that they should of done that. Im guessing Kay catalogues, only because I know of people who previously had problems with them, and not because I'm aware of this unforgivable practice.
