I'm a guy just turned 40. I keep myself fit. My eye's on the coming electoral mess in 2012. I'm looking forward to some championship football over the weekend.

And underneath it all, I like soft lace, silk and maybe cute bows.

I always have in secret. I just never acted on it until maybe 10 years ago, and even then it was sporadic.
It's "sporadic" these days.
I like way I feel in a cute pair of panties. I feel attractive, confident a subtly different feeling of power. I have that sly smile on my face. You know that smile that says "I'm getting away with something"
I like my body looks when its hard angles of attack are softened by hugging feminine curves. The lace trims, the adornments, the colors. The way they embrace and flatter. Its not only very relaxing. It's rather motivating, especially when I dont feel like doing that extra set at the gym because I dont think I have another one in me. But that image of being able to rock a pair of thigh highs can be just as strong as the visual of beating a PR at some road race I entered. Now, I dont think I'd be brave enough to actually merge those two together.

Some will think maybe there's some deep seated reason or trauma associated with it. For awhile I did think that and felt a little ashamed about it. But it isnt. For me it's a vent, a release. A release from the corporate game grid and how it can be inhumane. Its part of my release from stress. Its a chance to cede a little of that overriding control one has to show and exercise in cubicle hell. I have a number ways i enjoy relieving stresses, but this one is rather enjoyable.

But there's a simpler reason why I wear, I like the way i look. I like the way it feels and just because I can.

So much of what ChipLorry wrote resonates for me, especially "A release from the corporate game grid..." Like many others, the urge to dress was with me from a very early age and like many others it began with the exploration of my mother's underwear drawer. All during school and university nothing much came of it, although it was always in the back of my mind. Fast forward to carrier duty, flying big rescue helis just off a carrier deck waiting for disaster and finally owning up to my bisexuality and having a special friend dress me in nylons, panties and a bra. From the moment the nylons slid up my legs and I felt the tensions of the unique responsibilities I carried every day melt away, I knew this is the feeling I wanted and needed to retain my mental health. Of course the opportunities for this release were few and far between, but it made me determined to build a post-military life that would afford me the opportunity to dress whenever I wanted to dress.

Now decades later, I still dress and still feel that magical transformation as I slip into my femininity. And I'm still running and or swimming the extra couple of k's to make sure I like what I see in the mirror.Through more luck than skill, I managed an early retirement after losing my partner of 22 years am now living with a wonderful woman who is content to dress me and groom me and enjoy me sexually in my feminine as well as masculine personas. I am entering the third week of dressing exclusively en femme and bathing in the tranquility it brings me.

Coming back to ChipLorry's post, over the years I have found during my travels in the States and Europe that many of the special ladies I've met at the special clubs that cater to crossdressers come from highly responsible, high pressure jobs, including, like me, commercial pilots, surgeons, investment bankers, military and police. Nowadays I think I would get special pleasure from fucking a banker, but that's another topic.

Now if i could find a woman who wouldn't get freaked out by this, i would be just fine.

I wouldn't say my partner enthusiastically supports me, but she knows I wear knickers all the time: 24/365! She's 17 years younger than me, so I've had a lot of time to collect, and probably have 4 times the number she has. I've bought her some like mine - which she loves, but gets a bit freaked out if we're both wearing the same. OTOH she has bought me a couple of pairs, and bought herself an identical pair at the same time. So yes there are ladies out there, but do what I did and tell her early on. In my case the first time we got intimate.

Very well articulated Chip. I couldn't have said it better myself. I think my wife would be tolerant but I want to keep it my little secret for now. More importantly I really don't want to warp my young daughter yet either.

I think you were able to verbalize what many here have felt, or are feeling now. Sometimes, it is difficult to put some of these emotions or "reasons" into words so it is great when others write and some of us say, "I feel the EXACT same way!!"
