Transvestite found dead in garbage bin
By AZMAN ABDUL GHANI
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12:
Was it the wrath of a jealous lover, attempted robbery or something more sinister?
These are the angles police are working on following the discovery of the body of a transvestite inside a garbage bin at the back alley of Diamond Square in Setapak yesterday.
The cross-dresser’s body was found by a cleaner about 7.30am when she saw a pair of legs jutting out of the garbage bin.
She initially thought a mannequin had been dumped into the bin.
The victim, wrapped in a blanket, was clad in a dark T-shirt, white shorts and padded bra.
Initial checks revealed there was a single slash wound on the neck and several bruise marks on the body.
Police did not find any identification document on the body but the complexion indicated the victim may be a Chinese or an East Malaysian.
City CID deputy chief Assistant Commissioner Ramli Din said police believe the victim was murdered some eight hours before the body was found.
“We believe the victim was killed elsewhere and the body dumped in the garbage bin, he said, adding that police are also looking for the murder weapon.
The remains were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
Those with information on the murder can call the City police hotline at 03- 21159999 or SMS to POLISKL to 32728.
