sounds like most go to dept stores or discount stores.. anyone buy at victoria secrets or fredericks? and how was the experience?

I often shop at Victoria's Secret and most always have a good experience. I shop under the guise of buying for my wife. But the salesladies are usually very friendly and helpful. When new styles come out I enjoy asking them about them and getting their opinion of how they like the style. Secretly I am loving talking panties with the "experts".

I have shopped Fredericks and VS. I've never had any problem buying anything there (from panties, to nighties). My perception is that Fredericks is more "friendly" toward a male buyer. Maybe that's because I'm a fairly big gurl and VS caters to a smaller bodied gurl. I've also shopped Target, Wally World, and K Mart. Like everyone, I was as nervous as a cat in afternoon freeway traffic the first couple of times, but then I realized that no one cared (and if they did, it wasn't going to ruin my day).

I've also done a lot of shopping on line and have had mostly positive experiences getting my gurly things that way.

I buy my panties but I also get them from daughter's friends,a good friends daughter she wears the sexiest panties of all types. I really enjoy getting them from my daughter in- law cause she only wears Thongs and G Strings!

I used to hit Frederick's of HollyWood when I first got my own place (early 80s). They were the premiere (only) major lingerie chain back then and I used to see their lingerie featured on the Donahue show in the 70s. Always thought you would have to go to HollyWood to buy from the store, and then found a mall where one was. I slowed down when I decided I mostly interest in panties only, and there were cheaper alternatives out there.

When Victoria's Secret came along of course I had to have some from there too, but I started by using their website to get on the mailing list primarily. Have gone into the store a couple of times, but am still more of the mainstream for regular purchases.

Lastly, I wanted to say I like your signature line HMartCD, that made almost choke on my beer when I read it.

I agree! I find it very exciting when my wife asks me what I want when panty shopping, especially when there might be other people within earshot!

My favorite way to find panties is when someone leaves a nice pair behind in the laundry, I get more excited about these ones. Just to know someone else was wearing these sexy panties gives me a nice thrill. Otherwise I go shopping when I have had a dry spell in the laundry

I get most of my panties from my wife. Just today she gave me a pink pair of briefs with pretty pink lace panel. I am so happy.

I have aquired panties and lingerie in most every way. 'Borrowed' from live in females, Bought them from retail stores as well as thrift shops. From friends clothes hampers (sometimes panty drawers too). Even pinched them..."moon shine washing line, he dug it..." Yeah, BAD Arnold!!! In my early years I did what a lot of us seemed to have and got them from other family members. For me this was mostly my older sister. After I got my first job I started buying them in local department stores. As time progressed I started doing more and more online shopping. These days I shop 100% online and though I certainly miss the rush I used to feel while walking around the lingerie department of the department store and selecting my panties then taking them to the till I have to admit that I wouldn't own so much if it weren't for shopping online. I find it is so easy and enjoyable to slip into something especially femanine then start browsing through what is available online and there is certainly a lot of enjoyment in placing an order for something then thinking about what pleasures will come out of being able to enjoy them when they finally arrive.

I shop a VS both online and in the stores. I have my on VS charge. The only bad experience I've had was when I asked for suggestions for a bra for myself. I just got laughed at.

About 75% of the panties I own I bought them in the store. Others I have bought on-line from several sites.

I have "knicked" a few pair in my time and it's nice to get a little something extra along with the nice fabric... but I would sure hate to find that someone was going through my drawers...

When I started shopping for myself I wanted to find all the stuff I saw in the lingerie catalogs - the catalogs from National especially. I am still crazy over shapewear, flesh-toned corsets with 50 nylon-spandex-blend straps tugging every which way...

So I am looking more for VF than VS and for this reason I am content to shop Kohls and outlet shops (VFM also being important). There is also a dollar bin in the local Kmart, worth an occasional look. I did ebay for a couple weeks but I can get to VF Outlet and a big Marshall's in 15 min. and find the same stuff for less money.

When I first started wearing panties in the early 60's, I would use my mothers and sisters and put them back.My first girlfriend had some of the first bikinis that I ever saw so had to borrow a pair.Then in college there was the laundry room.Bought my first pair from JCPenneys in the mid 70's as well as my first half slips.Penneys has been a huge source as well as Sears Walmarts Lane Bryant and other mall stores. Got a computer in 2001 and discovered ebay. I still buy in stores.Just got a dozen or so VF's last week.Even after 35 years of buying in stores I still get nervous. It depends on the saleslady.Most are happy to sell to you .I don't think it matters to most of them who you are buying them for. Besides you cant have too many panties!

If I am out of town I shop freely at any store I want to. Last week when I was out of town I got a hankering to have some fun so I stopped at sears and bought myself a complete outfit. I wandered through the woman's clothing section for an hour picking out a pink blouse and some white caprice pants. I then went into the lingerie section and carefully picked out some soft granny panties that turned me on. I grabbed a bra from the discount section and finished up buying some plus size panty hose. Meanwhile I was the only guy anywhere near that area. I didn't give a damn. I always wonder what the woman are thinking especially the cashiers when I go to pay for it. It's one thing to buy a little something for your wife but to buy a matching outfit complete with lingerie is something else. I am pretty sure that would not be considered normal by most people. It gives me such a feeling of satisfaction though after I leave the store. You should definitely try it sometime. It gives you such a rush when you get home and try on your new outfit knowing you just bought it all yourself.

interesting thread. guess I'm in the minority, I've always purchased panties in person. department stores, outlets, lingerie shops and speciality women's botiques. got over any inhibitions very early. love to see and feel what I'm going to buy! and I love those times another lady customer comments and I can admit I'm buying for myself, not a gift. has led to interesting conversations.

I don't mind buying for myself in a store, but particularly enjoy it with my wife. I think it's often obvious to the cashier that the panties are too big for her, but they don't care.

I buy some on-line, some from stores like Sears.My most recent from Sears were soft microfibre low-cuts, with over an inch of pretty lace at the legs and a little bow at each side. I love the girlie touches!

I also like the stretch-lace boy-shorts.
