Cross-dressing ban 'unconstitutional'

A group representing gays and lesbians in the conservative South American country of Guyana is demanding the government remove a colonial-era law that bans cross-dressing in public.
In an affidavit filed late on Monday, the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination said the law is no longer relevant and violates people's rights.
"These laws are unconstitutional and discriminatory against a social minority," spokesman Joel Simpson said on Tuesday. "We are seeing a pattern of more and more abuses by police."
Police did not immediately return calls for comment.
The group will pursue the case in the Trinidad-based Caribbean Court of Justice if it is struck down in local courts, said Simpson, who is a cross-dresser.
The affidavit also complains about a local judge who told a group of cross-dressers last year to "go to church and give their lives to Christ" after they were detained for illegally wearing women's clothes in public, according to New York-based Human Rights Watch.
In a letter sent last year to President Bharrat Jagdeo, several international rights groups said the eight men were ordered to strip. Several were placed in solitary confinement.
The men were charged under an act that also prohibits beating a mat in public and selling cattle in the wrong part of town.
They were ordered to pay a fine of less than $US40 ($A45) each.
"It was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life," said Seon Clarke, 29, who was among them. "Life is tough for us because in Guyana because people think we are the scum of the earth."
While some islands in the Caribbean have laws against homosexuality, it is rare to find laws that condemn cross-dressing.

This is such a sad read,I have heard of similar stories from various countries. unfortunately most of us live in a world where cross dressing in public can get you hurt or in some cases dead.
That's why unless I'm out for a sex run,or partying i stick to panties & resist the desire to let others know I'm wearing through flashing.
I do participate in photo shoots in public areas such as state parks or cemetery's,usually a very racy set.
And i do so love too flash truck drivers, then back of pull out my cock and flash again( this is a risk that could get me severely hurt.
Point! ; if your living in a country where you know there are laws or restriction placed on your lifestyle, then use caution.
For a person to cross dress in public knowing there going to face prosecution & public exposure, would be like me pulling over on the side of a road waiting for a trucker i just flashed to kick my brains in ..?..

these old laws should have an expiration date,, like say 20 years,, then it is brought up automatically at the next voting to see if it should be modified or just erased.
silky soft panties are lifes way of saying no matter what happens in life,, you can still feel good all over..

What a croc! Who is the injured party? Let people be people, but don't rub it in people's faces either. It's not for everyone, for me, of course!
It's what is underneath that counts, whether it's Victoria's Secret, Maidenform or La Perla...mmm Good! Enjoy in moderation. Aye Dios!

What is crossdressing??
WHO said that design is for girls & that design is for man???
Who made the design that panties is for females only?????
Can we not say that the design for panties is for men & that women only used that for themselves ????
In some parts of Asia, a wrap around cloth is called a "sarong" & it looks like a skirt, so it that crossdressing ???
The scots wear a kilt that look like a skirt. So that is crossdressing???
Then that bloody Charles (that they call a prince) is a bloody crossdresser !

Good points pantyvpl, so,,, when can we call the prince a crossdresser?,,,,,
I totally agree,, if you go to an indian dress shop,, the male and female sarongs or outfits they wear are always right together, and i don't know but i can hardly tell the difference between the differences,,,
