Okay ladies - I know we discuss where we shop for our panties and lingerie, and most of us hit the usual places: Mall Chain Stores, Big Box Stores and of course, department stores. However, I'd like to know how many of you have been brave enough to shop at local, independent lingerie stores? There is a place about a half an hour drive from me, called "My Top Drawer" and I've never been to check it out. Not that I'm scared, lingerie shopping is the last thing I'm afriad of, it's that it's out of the way. I'd like to go, but I wonder how many men actually shop at these smaller stores, and if the sales staff are as used to seeing men as the larger chain stores are? Just wondering what your experiences have been like at these smaller shops?

I've been on the store's website, and they are terribly expensive, but I'd be willing to save up in order to get some higher quality lingerie.

I shop at several small lingerie shops in the Toronto area and the owners have come to know that I wear women's lingerie. They always suggest stuff for me and order in things they think I may like. The smaller the store the more they appreciate your business. If the store isn't usy when i go in thye sometimes let me try things on.

I live on the Isle of Wight which is a small island off the UK.
On the island there is a small lingerie shop and a months ago I plucked up the courage to go in there to buy some cream hold up stockings.
As i was talking to the lady owner i dont know what came over me and decided to let her know that they were for me, I was ready to run out of the store but to my suprise she didnt seem fazed at all and explained that she had a few male customers who regulary shoped there for items.
We chatted for a while and i asked her if they had thought of doing an under the counter service for her male customers, she replied that she hadnt but stated that she might look into it.
I now pop in ther quite regulary, there is another assistant who works part time and looks disaprovingly at me but i can deal with that. The main thing is that the owner is acceting towards me and we can talk without fear of ridicule.

Unfortunately, just about all of the small, privately owned lingerie shops in my area have closed up. The only places left are really adult novelty shops that don't carry items of high quality. I used to go to a small shop in the next town that was owned by a mother and her daughter. Nothing was ever said, but I'm sure they knew I was buying for myself as well as my wife because I often would buy the same item in 2 different sizes.

I was treated very nicely a long time ago at a lingerie shop in Denver. The girl, who was probably in her 20s and very attractive, actually came into the fitting room and asked if she could help me. She assisted by fastening my bra for me. I was at first a bit embarrassed standing in front of her in my bra, panties and pantyhose. She was very helpful, and I ended up buying quite a lot of merchandise. She later told me her best customers were men.

Over the years I've been in quite a few smaller independant lingerie shops. Sometimes I was able to try on things, ocasionaly the salesgirl would ask me to show how it fits.

Wow. I may have to check out a small lingerie shop for some stuff. There is a little place about 15 minutes away that I saw one day while driving that I would like to check out.

My wife just started working at one of those smaller lingerie shops. Good news for me. She has been bringing home expensive nice stuff for her and flaunting it in front of me. This of course leads to us getting naked and me fucking her in her new bra's and panties. She also tells me that the staff have been telling her about guys coming in and trying on stuff. She thinks I am a little freaky about wearing woman's clothing and assumes that I am one of few men that do it. After hearing her staff members talk about it I said to her that she needs to realize that a lot of men enjoy cross dressing. She has a more open mind about it now. The only problem is I can't shop there because the owner knows who I am. I was in there last week to help my wife with some lights and had a look around. They have really delicious stuff that I would love to get a hold of. I have to find a way to get the wife to buy me some of the stuff and bring it home. Wish me luck.

That's almost a dream come true Tampon!! Mabey, one night your wife will get the closing shift and you can meet up with and spend time in the store after hours? That is one of my personal dreams; Being the only customer in the store for however long I want to be there - being able to try anything on and just spend as mich time as I need. Sigh...

I have shopped at a small lingerie store, but not anywhere near home. I was in Utrecht, in Holland, at the time. I was the only male in the shop. Nobody said boo. I bought two pair of panties, including the black ones described as Euro panties in my album.

The small shops around here are rather pricey. Jasmine lives on a budget.

I was looking at one of the smaller stores website, and some of the panties hit $70.00 Not sure if I want to dish that kind of money out for (1) pair or panties. I could get six or seven pairs at a mall store for that kind of money. I'm going to stop in there one of these days to see what it's all about.

Over the years have visited maybe 6 or so small lingerie shops for myself.
Had visited others before on the excuse of buying something for my wife. Oh, the temptation. I finally succumbed and it was delightful. So many
choices... In most cases small shop sales girls are more helpful; especially if you look a bit bewildered. Most assume the lingerie is for you wife/girl friend, but in my case the size is often a give away. Of those who realize or know I'm buying for myself almost all have been very helpful. One who suddenly realized hat the camisole and tap panty set was for me just shoved them in my hand a walked away. She apparently told another sales lady who came over and helped complete the sale without remark. The poor first girl kept watching me the entire time.
Not a bad experience. I wish I had the money to shop in these boutiques all the time.

I like to go into lingerie only shops sometimes, however, I really can't justify $60 for 1 pair of panties... At least, not with the income we have.... $20, ok... But $60? Not yet....

I go to them mainly to see what's new and such... We don't have all too many here, tho', anymore... La Sleeza is about the closest thing we have much anymore here...:/

I have never been, but if a single pair of panties is $60 I think I'll stay away. I find it hard to spend over $10 for a pair of panties. It is tough because I really like a lot of the VS stuff, but the bras and panties are so expensive.

Would love to know where this place was in Denver. would not mind going to a smaller place with less foot traffic to buy.

I do go to small local lingerie stores and I could not be more delighted with the conduct of the staff.The girls treat me with every courtesy and even suggest the purchase of lingerie bags.I wear stockings,panties,nighties and slips all the time.I love wearing!xxxxNadesha.

Being where I am, we have a good selection of smaller stores - although they are chain stores - and have some very cute lingerie on offer. Cotton-On Body and Bras 'n' Things have some great deals and gorgeous lingerie. Both are independent stores and offer great assistance!

I sent the small store I've been wondering about an email the other day. I asked if they allowed men to try things on and if they have ever fitted a man for a bra. Their responce was very interesting:
