OCALA FLORIDA— Robin Forbes a 59 year crossdresser from Summerfield went to church dressed as a woman, not to pray to the Big Man up above oh no, he went to pray on our dear old God fearing grannies. Forbes was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of inappropriate behaviour, that being groping the breasts of three elderly women who were in his church choir.
Forbes was also sentenced to eight years of probation and two years of community control by Circuit Judge Willard Pope, after being found guilty on three third-degree felony counts of battery on a person over the age of 65.
Forbes was a new member of the First United Methodist Church of Ocala and also sang in the choir. There was three separate assaults in the choir room where he groped three granniesForbes, previously twice-married, would show up to church on Sundays dressed in a lacy skirt and blouse, white tennis shoes with pink laces, a blonde curly wig and very heavy makeup, Granny Baker said on stand. “It was uncomfortable because we had gotten to know him in choir rehearsal on Wednesday as a man, and on Sunday he appeared as a woman.”
Forbes denied engaging in any inappropriate conduct.
“I never touched anybody in that church, I swear,” he testified.
“I have full respect for elderly people,” he said, adding he had been the prime caretaker of his diabetic 82-year-old mother prior to his arrest. He sighed after the verdict was read and attempted to persuade the judge of his innocence right up until he was sentenced.
“I’m sorry if I crossed someone’s path the wrong way, but I did not do anything of a sexual matter to these people,” he protested.Forbes had a prior child sex abuse conviction from 1986 in Maryland. The court was also told that Forbes was asked to leave the church after at least a dozen women came forward with complaints of inappropriate behavior.
Granny Baker told the judge that her church welcomed this man with open arms and Forbes betrayed our confidence, our cordiality and our love.
She later expressed disappointment at the five-year prison term as she walked out of the courtroom.“It’s not enough but we will live with it.”
